The controversies related to Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra are not stopping. The couple is accused of cheating a businessman of Rs 90 lakh in the name of gold scheme. Now the official statement of Shilpa-Raj's lawyer has come out in this case. According to the statement, Shilpa-Raj have already paid Rs 90 lakh to the businessman and have also given all the evidence to the police. The police had stopped the investigation, however the complainant has filed a private complaint, due to which the court has ordered to investigate the case again.
Shilpa Shetty and Raj's lawyer Prashant Patil has said in an official statement, the complainant had filed a criminal complaint against my clients Raj Kundra and Shilpa in 2022. The matter was investigated in the year 2022. The investigation found that Shilpa and Raj had legally paid the complainant Rs 90 lakh. All the documents related to the payment were handed over to the police by my clients. After knowing the truth, the police did justice to my clients.
After the interrogation, the complainant filed a private complaint in the Hon'ble Court under Section 156 (3) of CRPC. After 2 years, the Hon'ble Court has ordered the police to re-investigate the case. We have full faith in the justice system. The lawyer further said, truth will prevail. My clients have not committed any crime and this has been proved through documents.
What is the whole matter?
In the year 2022, Prithviraj Saremal Kothari had accused Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra of fraud. He alleged that he was duped of money through the 2014 gold scheme. Under the scheme, customers have to make an initial payment at a discounted rate and will be given gold in a fixed time. The businessman had also invested in this scheme, however, he alleges that he has not received the profits as promised.
