The film 'Sharmaji Ki Beti', directed by Ayushmann Khurrana's wife Tahira Kashyap, has recently been streamed on Amazon Prime. The story of this film has also been written by Tahira herself. Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta and Saiyami Kher have appeared in lead roles in the film. The star cast had a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar.
The story of the film is based on serious social issues
On the story of the film, Sakshi Tanwar said, 'I got a call from Atul and Anuj. They called me to meet them and told me the story. After this, they told me that Tahira Kashyap Khurana is going to direct it. We met and Tahira immediately told me the story and I liked it instantly. The story of this film is about women empowerment and some serious issues. I am sure that women will be able to relate to this project.'
Saiyami Kher said- I am very happy to work with Tahira
Saiyami Kher said about her experience with Tahira Kashyap Khurana, 'Tahira narrated this film to me many years ago. I liked it very much when she narrated it. I liked the story and was ready to be a part of it. I really enjoyed working with Tahira. Along with this, I hope that this film reaches as many people as possible.
The director had made all the preparations, we just had to give our best
Talking about her character, Divya Dutta said, 'When your director has done so much preparation, you just have to hold his hand and give your best at that moment, enjoy it. Talking about the character, Kiran is a small town woman, who has come from Patiala and is emotionally very dependent on her mother and husband. But she is lost somewhere in this big city. I did whatever Tahira said for this character.'
Not just for women… this film is special for everyone
On the story of the film, Divya said… 'First of all, we should not limit it to the fact that only women will be able to connect with it. Rather, everyone should watch such a film, because the men in this film are very different and have different work lives. They are very relatable characters. This is the story of every person. People are really waiting to watch this film and I am very happy for this.

Saiyami said about the subject of the film… 'This story is about women as well as men. This story connects with everyone and it is like a real story. The film talks about everyone from a 14-year-old teenager to a teenager's mother. It is about everyone who is struggling to live in a big city. This is a very relatable story and all these things have happened to me before. So I think the audience will find themselves in the story…'
The shooting experience was like a picnic
Sakshi Tanwar said about her shooting experience…'It was like a picnic for us. Work was being done in a fun way and Tahira is very calm and funny. She is a very calm and relaxed director. Work was done in a very relaxed way on her set. There was absolutely no pressure of work on us. In this way the whole process was very relaxing.
