Share Market Closing Bell: Break the decline..! What happened in the stock market today?




Leader Online Desk : Almost all sectoral indices of BSE Sensex rose in the final session after the day-long fluctuations. The Sensex rose 677 points to close at 73,664 at the close of trade today. While the Nifty rose by 203 points to close at 22,404.

The Sensex opened above 73,300 with a gain of around 330 points

The Sensex and Nifty 50 indices saw fluctuations on Wednesday (15th). After three days of gains, Sensex, Nifty closed flat today. IT sector stocks got off to an encouraging start in early trade today. Wipro, Infosys LTI Mindtree were the frontrunners. Bharti Airtel continues to be one of the top gainers today. At the start of trading, the Sensex opened above 73,300 with a gain of around 330 points. Nifty opened up 95 points around 22,300 while Nifty Bank opened up 245 points around 47,932.

The market experienced ups and downs

IT sector stocks got off to a rousing start to early trade. Sensex opened with a gain of 300 points while Nifty opened with a gain of 100 points. However, Wipro, Infosys LTI Mindtree were the frontrunners. Bharti Airtel remains among the top gainers today. At the start of trading, the Sensex opened above 73,300 with a gain of around 330 points. Nifty opened up 95 points around 22,300 while Nifty Bank opened up 245 points around 47,932. The market fell from the highs. Sensex fell by 550 points and Nifty by almost 180 points. Bank Nifty plunged by 450 points,

The market closed on a bullish note with a superb recovery in the last hour

The market saw a recovery in the last hour on Nifty expiry day. Almost all sector indices of BSE rose. Nifty rose 203 points to close at 22,404. The Sensex rose 677 points to close at 73,664.

Which stocks are top gainers, top losers?

Tata Consumer Products, LTI Mindtree Ltd, M&M, Bharti Airtel and Tech Mahindra were the top gainers in the Nifty 50. Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, SBI, BPCL and Power Grid Corporation were the major laggards in the Nifty 50 on May 16.

52 percent increase in net profit of 'Hindustan Aeronautics'

Hindustan Aeronautics on Thursday, May 16 announced its results for the March quarter of FY2024. The company's net profit rose 52 percent to Rs 4,308 crore in the March quarter. The company's revenue grew by 18 percent to Rs. 14,768.70 crore as compared to Rs. 12,494 crores. On a quarterly basis, the Indian government-owned company's profit has more than doubled. 1,261 crore profit in the December quarter. At the same time, revenue has registered a whopping 140 percent growth on a quarterly basis.
