Shahrukh Khan started drinking alcohol after Devdas: Said- Had signed the film because of his mother, used to be worried during shooting

During an international event, Shahrukh Khan had told that after playing the role of a drunkard in the film Devdas, he actually started drinking alcohol. This was the reason why he refused to ask his fans to take inspiration from this character.

Earlier this year, Shahrukh Khan had talked about his film career and some evergreen films at an event. During this, he also talked about the film Devdas. He told that he was very worried during the shooting of this film. For this reason he started drinking alcohol.

He had said- I started drinking alcohol after the film. This is a negative side of it.

I signed the film Devdas because of my mother.

Shahrukh had told that he had agreed to this film because he believed that his mother Lateef Fatima would like it. Regarding this he had said – I just felt that if I became Devdas, she (mother) would like it and appreciate it.

Shahrukh believes that if he makes huge films, his parents can see him from heaven.

The film Devdas had earned Rs 168 crores.

The film Devdas was released in 2002. Artists like Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit, Jackie Shroff, Kirron Kher were seen in this film. Shahrukh also received the Best Actor Award for this film.

This film was based on the novel by Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay. This film was one of the highest grossing films of 2002. Made for Rs 50 crore, this film collected Rs 168 crore.
