Bollywood's Badshah Shah Rukh Khan is the owner of the Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders. A meeting was held between the owners of all the teams and the BCCI officials at the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) headquarters on July 31 in connection with the next season of IPL. KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan also attended the meeting, where he had an argument with the owner of another team, Ness Wadia. After the situation got heated, the meeting could not yield any result.
According to a recent Cricbuzz report, the meeting was held on the issue of whether a mega auction should be held for the upcoming season or not. King Knight Riders owner Shahrukh Khan was against the next mega auction. While Punjab King's owner Ness Wadia wanted the auction to be held. Shahrukh also argued in the meeting that a mini auction should be held and the facility to retain as many of his players as possible should be provided. While Ness Wadia flatly refused this. The discussion on this issue was still going on when the two started arguing on their respective issues.
Amidst the debate, the owners of all the teams got divided into two groups. According to the Indian Express report, Sunrise Hyderabad owner Kavya Maran came out in support of Shah Rukh Khan. The owners of Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals have also agreed with Shah Rukh. On the other hand, the owners of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals believe that a mega auction should be held to form a better team. During the meeting, the debate escalated so much that no result could be reached and the meeting had to be stopped.
Ness Wadia is the co-owner of the IPL team Punjab Kings along with Preity Zinta.
Decisions were to be taken on important issues related to IPL in the meeting held on 31st July, however due to the debate, no result could be reached from the meeting. It remains to be seen when the next meeting is scheduled.
Shahrukh Khan got his cataract treated!
For the past several days, there were reports that Shah Rukh Khan is suffering from cataract in both eyes. Reports are that the actor had got his eyes treated at HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Center in Mumbai before Anant-Radhika's wedding. If not satisfied with the treatment, Shah Rukh Khan will go to America on July 30, however, these reports have proved to be rumours. Reports are also that Shah Rukh has already taken treatment by going to America in early July.
Talking about the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is currently preparing for his upcoming film King. In this Red Chillies production film, Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan will also be seen in an important role. The shooting of this action packed film is going to take place in London, the preparations for which are underway.
