Shabana used to keep a distance from Javed Akhtar in the beginning: She said- I had heard that he is arrogant, that's why I did not pay much attention to him

Shabana Azmi has revealed that initially she used to keep a distance from Javed Akhtar. She had heard that Javed sahab is very arrogant, so she wanted to stay away from him. Javed Akhtar used to come to her house as well, but despite this Shabana did not talk to him.

After some time, Shabana came to know that Javed sahab is exactly like her father Kaifi Azmi. Then Shabana started talking to him.

Shabana said all these things recently in Arbaaz Khan's celebrity talk show.

'I had heard- Javed Akhtar is very arrogant'

Shabana Azmi has revealed that initially she used to keep a distance from Javed Akhtar. Even Javed sahab used to come home and meet her father Kaifi Azmi. Shabana Azmi said- Both of our fathers were communists and lyricists. Our background was the same.

At that time he (Javed Akhtar) had started writing. He used to come to recite his compositions to my father. But I kept a distance from him because I had heard that Javed Akhtar is very arrogant and one should stay away from him. Because of this I did not pay much attention to him.

Shabana Azmi further said- He praised me after watching the film Sparsh (1980). He also invited all the people working in the film to his house. That day I felt that he also has sensitivity. After this we started meeting. Then I felt how similar he is to my father.

After some time, I became convinced that he was the right partner for me and thus, our relationship began.

Let us tell you that after divorcing his first wife Honey Irani, Javed Akhtar married Shabana Azmi in 1984.
