A BJP leader's claim in Karnataka has created a stir. He claimed to have got pen drives containing around 3,000 videos of women including government officials. In this regard, he wrote a letter to the state party president in December 2023. In it, former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda's (former Prime Minister and JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda's) grandson as well as Hasan Lok Sabha MP from Karnataka and JDS (Janata Dal Secular) candidate Prajwal Revanna had made serious allegations of sexual harassment. Revanna has also been accused of using the footage to blackmail women into engaging in continuous sexual acts. Detailed report on thisIndia Todayis given by Meanwhile, the Karnataka government has decided to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter. The Chief Minister of the state Siddaramaiah has also issued such orders.
Videos of Prajjwal in offensive positions with women went viral. There were rumors that women were sexually harassed by putting pressure on them. Some government employees are also said to be among the victims. After this, the Karnataka State Commission for Women demanded an inquiry into the matter on 26 April. It was also suggested to the state government to appoint a special investigation team. The Chief Minister has also commented on this matter through social media. On the other hand, Prajwal Revanna has left for Germany on Saturday morning. Prajjwal became the youngest (29) elected MP in 2019.
