Actress Sanya Malhotra is in the news these days for her upcoming film 'Mrs.' The actress recently won the Best Actress award for her role in 'Mrs.' at the New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) 2024. During an exclusive conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Sanya shared her first reaction on receiving the award.
The actress said- I woke up at seven in the morning. I saw that I had received a message from my director Aarti and producer Harman Baweja. I had not even thought that I would get an award. I could not go there during the screening of the film. The only thing going on in my mind was that I don't know how people would have liked the film?
When I was told about the award, it was a very surprising moment for me. I first shared this with my family. When you get an award, your self-confidence increases. The film is being liked a lot. The film should be released and people here can watch it too. I hope everyone likes the film.
This film is a remake of the Malayalam film 'The Great Indian Kitchen'. The story of the film revolves around Sanya's character. The story of the film is based on the life of a dancer Richa, who gets married into a family that is not open-minded. She is pressured to do household chores. She opposes this.
Talking about the film, Sanya Malhotra says, 'This is a very challenging character and a film with a very strong message.' Talking about the work front, apart from this film, Sanya is working with Varun Dhawan in director Shashank Khaitan's film 'Sunny Sanskrit Ki Tulsi Kumari'.
