Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan has talked about his personal life. He has said that he did not take the decision of second marriage with actress Helen suddenly but took this step after informing his family members about it in advance.
In an interview given to Zoom, he said, 'I did not take the decision to marry Helen for the second time because I was upset with my first marriage or wanted to end that marriage. I did not take the decision of marrying Helen suddenly. It took a long time. I was the first to tell Salma (first wife) that Helen is in my life. I did this because I did not want them to know about our relationship through any gossip magazine or anyone else.

Salim Khan further said, 'When I told her, naturally she was not happy about this because it was not a good thing that I was going to do. Of course, there were problems between us after that but it was all very short-lived. After some time everyone accepted this. I told my children about this but they were young then. He did not understand much but later when he grew up, he understood everything.
I told him- 'There is someone else in my life. I have married her. I don't have any expectations from you. I don't expect you to love her as much as you love your mother but I just want you to respect her.'
Salim Khan had praised Salma Khan in the interview and said that she had handled the entire situation in a better way and he would always be grateful to her for this.
