Soha Ali Khan has revealed that her grandfather built the Pataudi Palace to impress his father-in-law. Actually, Soha's grandmother Sajida Sultan was the Begum of Bhopal and her grandfather Iftikhar Ali Khan was the Nawab of Pataudi. Soha's grandfather loved Sajida Sultan, but Sajida's father was not allowing them to marry. Then Iftikhar Ali built this palace to please his father-in-law. However, it cost so much to build it that Iftikhar Ali had no money left.

In an interview with Cyrus Broacha, Soha said, 'Dada built this palace in 1935 so that he could get married. In the middle of building it, he ran out of money. So when you go there, you will see that there are marble floors under many carpets, but some carpets have just been cemented and left because he ran out of money.'

Soha said- Saif owns the palace

Soha told that later this palace was given to her father Mansoor Ali Khan. Now it is owned by Saif Ali Khan. She also revealed that there is a huge generator room in the palace grounds, which is equal to a 2BHK flat and it belongs to them.

There are 150 rooms in Pataudi Palace

Saif Ali Khan's ancestral home Pataudi Palace is in Gurugram, Haryana. Saif likes to spend holidays in this mansion with his wife Kareena and children. This palace has 150 rooms. It has 7 bedrooms, 7 dressing rooms, 7 billiard rooms, a luxurious royal dining room and drawing room. The corridors of the palace are decorated with luxury furniture, old pictures and chandeliers. Many Bollywood films have been shot in this mansion. Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' was also shot in the Sea Palace.

Saif Ali Khan had revealed in an earlier interview that his father had leased out the Pataudi Palace to a hotel chain. When the lease expired, the family repossessed the property.
