The man who shot Prime Minister Robert Fico has been detained. Slovakia's Interior Minister told the media on Wednesday (15th) that the suspect is a 71-year-old writer.
According to local media reports, Prime Minister Fico was injured in a shootout in Handlova on Wednesday (local time). He is currently undergoing treatment in the city of Banska Bystrica. Hallekhera was arrested on the spot. The US also condemned the attack, and President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken wished Fico a speedy recovery.
