Leaders Online; There is good news for the fans of the brilliant batsman and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. Rishabh Pant has now been announced as the wicket-keeper batsman for the upcoming IPL. The Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI has posted this information on X.
Rishabh Pant had to go through a 14-month rehabilitation and recovery process after a fatal road accident on 30 December 2022. Now BCCI has said that he is fit as a wicket-keeper batsman for the upcoming IPL.
Meanwhile, BCCI has confirmed that fast bowler Mohammad Shami and popular Krishna will not be able to participate in the T20 league this season.
Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting recently gave an update on Rishabh Pant's fitness. Ponting had said that 26-year-old Rishabh Pant has started training as a wicketkeeper at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. Notably, he has been seen batting in the nets and his videos have gone viral on social media. Pant overcame many hurdles and is currently training hard to gain some momentum ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.
Meanwhile, NCA has already certified Pant fit for the match. This means that Pant can play all the matches in IPL. In December 2022, Pant was seriously injured in a horrific car accident. Now he has recovered from this and started practicing. Ponting noted that Pant is training for better fitness and his progress is being monitored constantly.
