Richa Chadha has played the role of Lajjo in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series 'Hiramandi'. His screen time in the series was short but powerful. The audience really liked the character played by him. Actually, Richa was offered two characters in this series. In an interview, Richa has explained the reason behind choosing this character.

He said- When I was talked to for 'Hiramandi', Sanjay sir was the show runner at that time, first I was offered another character. This character had a lot of screen time. But because an actor sees what is new in it for me, that is why I chose Lajjo.

Because I have mostly played characters like 'Bholi Punjaban' or 'Tara in Madam Chief Minister'. With this work, I wanted to change that stereotype and also wanted to surprise the audience. He said- Everything is happening as I had thought.

So when Bhansali sir asked me to come and see this character, I immediately chose the character of Lajjo. I was sure that it would be beneficial and it happened, within 24 hours I got a lot of love from people. Apart from the audience, people from the film industry also praised my work.

In this series of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, along with Richa Chadha, many big actors like Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Fardeen Khan, Farida Jalal have been seen in important roles.
