Actor Ranjeet, who plays the role of villain, has worked in almost 500 films. During this period, he also did flirting scenes with many actresses. One such scene was in the film 'Prem Pratigya' which was to be shot on Ranjeet and Madhuri Dixit but Madhuri cried before this and refused to shoot the scene. Ranjit himself has narrated this story in an interview.

Ranjeet said, 'Madhuri started crying and refused to shoot the scene with me. I was unaware of this. An art director told me this. Actually, Madhuri was playing the character of a poor man's daughter in the film. I had to molest Madhuri in the scene. I kept waiting but Madhuri did not come for the shooting.

Ranjeet further said, 'I did not know what was happening because no one told me anything. Later, after much persuasion, Madhuri agreed. Fight master Veeru Devgan had explained to him that he would shoot the entire scene in one take. He also told Madhuri that such scenes are the demand of the story. The villain is not bad. Mithun was in the lead role with Madhuri Dixit in Prem Pratigya. The film was released in 1989.

Earlier, while narrating an anecdote, Ranjeet had said that he had done such scenes in 150 films in which he had to molest women. Because of this, his image had become quite negative even in real life.

Ranjeet had also told in the interview that when his mother saw him teasing Rakhi Gulzar in the film 'Sharmili', she got very angry. When she returned home after watching a movie from the theatre, she threw Ranjeet out of the house.

They thought that Ranjeet really did such things with girls. Later, when Ranjit explained to her, she agreed and then calmed down.

Ranjeet has worked in approximately 500 films.

Ranjit's first film was 'Sawan Bhado'. His real name is Gopal Bedi. The name Ranjeet was given to him by Sunil Dutt. Ranjeet gained popularity by playing negative roles in many films of the 70-80s.
