Ali Peter John had told that Rajesh Khanna's downfall started after his marriage to Dimple but despite this, he was not ready to reduce his fees or make any kind of adjustments.

According to Ali Peter, 'Rajesh Khanna was so insecure about Amitabh that once he went to the terrace of his bungalow and cried a lot. Not only this, even after knowing that Jaya and Amitabh liked each other, Rajesh Khanna used to speak ill of Amitabh to Jaya. Rajesh Khanna often advised Jaya to stay away from Amitabh and said, why do you hang out with this man? Nothing will happen to you.'
