Rajiv Thakur, known for comedy, recently played the role of a terrorist in the web series 'IC 814: Kandahar Hijack'. After this role, he hopes that people will now see him not only as a comedian but also as a serious actor. Let us tell you, these days he is seen in 'The Great Indian Kapil Show'.

During a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Rajeev told that initially director Anubhav Sinha and the casting team had some doubts whether the audience would accept him in such a serious character. He said, 'When I was called for the audition, the biggest worry was that if people started laughing after seeing my character, the entire series would be ruined. My introduction is only in the beginning and if even once people thought that I will do comedy, then the character or the series could have weakened.

Regarding the reactions regarding the casting in the series, Rajiv said, 'Initially some people were shocked that it was the same Rajiv Thakur, but as the series progressed, people started taking my character seriously. Anubhav sir helped me a lot in understanding the depth of the character. I had not made any special preparation, but I completely adapted to what he explained. This was a completely new experience for me. There was no space for comedy in this character, and Anubhav sir's guidance helped a lot in playing it.

When he was asked what kind of roles he was getting after this series, he said, 'Reactions are very good. Now I want to start getting different types of roles. People have seen my comedy, now they have also seen negative characters. Hopefully more new and challenging roles will be available now. I hope that people in the industry will see me in new roles. I am ready to play all types of roles.

Finally, about 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', Rajiv said, 'You will see more of me in the new season of the show. New season, better season, and hopefully this time too we will make the audience laugh a lot.
