Raj Kapoor's relationship with his wife was not good: Revealed in biography, Krishna said- sometimes we did not talk at all

Raj Kapoor married 16-year-old Krishna Raj at the age of 21. After marriage, there were reports of Raj Kapoor's link-up with actresses Nargis and Vyjayanthimala. However, he never left his wife Krishna.

Raj Kapoor had admitted that the relationship between him and his wife was not good. He did not even consider himself a good family man.

In the biography The One and Only Showman, Raj Kapoor had said, 'Sometimes our relations were not good. We were never on good terms. We were together, but the credit for this is her (Krishna), not mine. She is a very kind and tolerant woman. She was also a good daughter-in-law for my parents.'

Wife Krishna also used to get jealous when Raj Kapoor got a lot of attention from fans and female co-stars. In the biography, she had said, 'He (Raj Kapoor) always treated me like a queen. But when his fans and girls used to chase him, I used to get jealous. It was difficult for me to handle it then.'

Raj Kapoor and Krishna's marriage lasted for 42 years, until the actor died in 1988 at the age of 63. Krishna died in 2018 at the age of 87.

Krishna had said- we could neither live together nor apart

Krishna had also confessed that her married life was not happy. She said, 'There were ups and downs in our marriage, but at the end of the day, both of us realised that we can neither live with each other nor without each other. Today I realise that the life of a celebrity is like an open book. I regret those days when we did not talk to each other.'
