Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has denied the news of his arrest at Dubai airport. Sharing a video on Instagram, he said that he has come to Dubai to perform and nothing like the rumours being spread has happened.
He said, 'I request you not to believe such bad news, I will return to my country soon and will entertain you all with my best songs.'
Rahat gave his reaction to the news of his arrest through a video on Instagram.
Earlier there were reports that former manager Salman Ahmed had filed a complaint in many cities including Dubai, after which Rahat was taken into custody in Dubai.
Let us tell you that there has been a dispute going on between Rahat and his former manager for some time now. Reacting to this dispute, Rahat had called it a family matter.
Rahat was in the news due to viral video
Rahat has been involved in controversies earlier also. Recently he was in news due to a viral video. In that video he was seen beating a person with shoes and slippers. Rahat was asking him about a bottle and the person was saying that he did not know where the bottle was.
This video of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan beating his disciple went viral.
After this video went viral, Rahat shared a video on social media and clarified the whole matter. Rahat said that this is a matter between a master and a disciple. The person seen in the video, Naveed Hasnain, is his disciple. He apologized to Naveed and said that the bottle was special for him because it contained Peer Sahab's Daam ki Paani.
Smuggling charges have been leveled
In 2019, Rahat was accused of smuggling foreign currency, after which the ED sent a notice to Rahat under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) and sought a reply.
Rahat was accused of earning 3,40,000 US dollars illegally. Out of this, he had smuggled 2,25,000 dollars.
Rahat is known in Bollywood for songs like 'O Re Piya..', 'Mann Ki Lagan', 'Dil To Baccha Hai Ji'.
