R Ashwin Number 1 Bowler : R Ashwin Number 1 Test Bowler! Dropped Bumrah behind leader









Leader Online Desk : R Ashwin Number 1 Bowler : India's star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has become the number-1 bowler in the Test rankings for the sixth time. He overtook Jasprit Bumrah to claim the number one spot in the latest ICC rankings. In the ranking of batsmen, India's captain Rohit Sharma has jumped five places and Yashasvi has jumped two places. Kuldeep Yadav has also benefited from a good performance in the rankings.

870 rating on the top spot

The 37-year-old Ashwin took the highest wickets of 26 in the five-match Test series against England. The last Test match of the series at Dharamsala was special for him. It was the 100th Test match of his career, in which Ashwin played an important role in leading Team India to a resounding victory. He hunted four batsmen in England's first innings and five in the second innings. Along with this he took nine wickets for 128 runs in both innings. This performance benefited Ashwin and he reached the top spot in the ICC Test bowlers' list with a rating of 870. He became the top bowler in Tests for the first time in December 2015.

Bumrah loses two positions

Jasprit Bumrah has lost two places. He has slipped to third place. Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is at the second position. Ravindra Jadeja is at the seventh position. Ravindra Jadeja is at the first position and Ravichandran Ashwin is at the second position in the all-rounders' ranking.

Rohit Sharma has done wonders in the Test batting rankings. He has reached the sixth position. He has gained 5 positions. Rohit scored 400 runs in 9 Test innings against England. He finished as the fourth highest run scorer in the series.

A successful eighth place

Yashasvi Jaiswal has progressed in the Test batting rankings. From 10 to 8th place. He scored 712 runs in 9 innings of five Test matches against England. He became the highest run-scorer in the series. During this time, he scored two double centuries and three fifties from his bat.

Kane Williamson tops the list of Test batsmen, while Joe Root remains at the second position. Babar Azam has gained two places and is at number three. This is followed by Darrell Mitchell and Steve Smith.
