Family members have raised questions over the alleged suicide in police custody of Anuj Thapan, accused of firing outside Salman Khan's house. Thapan's brother Abhishek claimed that the police had murdered him. He was not someone who would commit suicide. We want justice. The family also demanded that Anuj's post-mortem be conducted outside Mumbai.
Sarpanch of the deceased's native village Manoj Godara spoke to news agency ANI regarding the matter. He said that on one side there is superstar Salman Khan and on the other side there are laborers. Under pressure, the police killed him and made it look like suicide.
Accused Anuj Thapan committed suicide in police custody on Wednesday. Thapan hanged himself with a sheet in the toilet of Mumbai Police Headquarters. The investigation of the case has been handed over to the State CID. Mumbai Crime Branch had detained Anuj and his associate from Punjab on April 25 in the firing case. Both are residents of Abohar, Punjab.
On April 14, Vicky and Sagar opened fire at Galaxy Apartment, Salman Khan's house.
The accused was in the custody of Mumbai Crime Branch for 6 days.
The police received information about the hanging at 11 am on Wednesday. However, the information about the time of suicide of accused Anuj has not been revealed yet. He was taken to the nearest G.T. in the morning in a very critical condition. Was taken to hospital. The doctors of that hospital referred Anuj to St. George Hospital located at CSMT, where the doctors declared him dead. The investigation into the suicide of accused Anuj Thapan was handed over to the state CID.
Mumbai Crime Branch had detained Anuj (32) and Subhash Chander (37) from Punjab on April 25 in the firing case. Both had provided weapons for this incident. Both the accused are residents of Abohar, Punjab.
The younger brother who committed suicide was a truck helper. The second accused is Subhash Kisan. Many cases are registered against both the accused in Punjab and Haryana. Both were working together with Lawrence Bishnoi for many years.

Anuj and Subhash had delivered two pistols to boys named Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta in Panvel on March 15. With these pistols, Vicky and Sagar had fired at Galaxy Apartment, Salman Khan's house. Vicky and Sagar were arrested from Bhuj in Gujarat, while Anuj and Subhash were arrested in Punjab.
MCOCA sections imposed on 6 accused
MCOCA sections have been imposed against the accused in the firing case at Salman Khan's house. Apart from this, MCOCA has also been imposed on the main conspirators Anmol Bishwoi and Lawrence Bishnoi. MCOCA has been imposed on a total of 6 accused. With the imposition of MCOCA, the accused will no longer be able to get bail quickly. The minimum punishment under MCOCA is 5 years in jail.
