According to the complaint filed by the victim at the Valtoha police station, her son has entered into a love marriage with a girl who lives next door. On March 31, around 6 pm, accused Sharanjit Singh alias Sunny, Gurcharan Singh, Kulwinder Kaur alias Mani and two unknown persons came out of their house. He asked the victim about the love marriage of the boy. After this, the accused put his hand on her neck. She was made to run in the street half-naked. She screamed for help. After some time, the victim's husband and relatives came to know about the incident. He rushed to the spot. After this, the victim was rescued from the clutches of the mob. By then, some of the crowd had made a video of the woman and made it viral on social media.
Allegation that the police did not take action
The woman has alleged that she went to the police on the night of March 31 and lodged a complaint. Police registered a complaint, but no action was taken. Not only this, the victim and her relatives have also claimed that the police registered a case on April 4. In this case, Bhikhiwind Superintendent of Police Inder Singh said that according to the complaint filed by the victim, a case has been registered against Sharanjit Singh, Gurcharan Singh Kulwinder Kaur resident of Valtoha and two unknown persons. Raids are being conducted to arrest him.
The accused continued to make videos, no one came to help
The woman said that no one helped her when the accused were chasing her half-naked.
