Nag Ashwin's dream project 'Kalki 2898 AD' is set to release on June 27. A video of the film's stars as well as producers Priyanka and Swapna Dutt is going viral on social media. In the video, they can be seen discussing how they cast Kamal Haasan for the film and how much effort went into convincing him.

Swapna Dutt says – The most difficult casting so far was that of Kamal Sir. The video going viral is of a pre-release event in Mumbai, where actors Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas and Ashwini Dutt's daughters Swapna and Priyanka are sitting together. In the video, Swapna says that Yaskin is the main character of this film, but who will play Yaskin was a big challenge for us.

For this role, we had to cast an actor who is equal to or more powerful than two superheroes! In such a situation, we were very upset. But after a long time, a name came to our mind 'Kamal Haasan'. We could only think of Kamal sir. But it took us a year to find out. On this Prabhas further said- I thought why would he do this work? Don't torture him, think about someone else.

Kamal Haasan was a little nervous about doing this role. He said- There is no question of torture in this. Many times actors have self doubt. Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas have done such work. But I have not done such a role before. It is not that I have never done a negative role before. I have played many characters like lead villain, psychopath. But this role is really different. Prabhas agreed with him. Prabhas said- It is true that Kamal sir is doing such a role for the first time.

'Kalki 2898 AD' took 5 years to make. Its budget is 600 crores. The film is going to be released in cinemas worldwide on June 27.
