Pro Hockey League: Argentina Defeated by Indian Men's Team; Harakiri from the women's team









Leader Online Desk | Pro Hockey League: The Indian men's team defeated Argentina in the FIH Pro Hockey League match on Wednesday (22nd). The match was tied at 2-2 in regulation time and the match was played on penalties. In this, the Indian team defeated Argentina with a margin of 5-4. Mandeep Singh scored in the 11th minute for India, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay scored while Lucas Martinez and Tomas Dome scored for Argentina.

Captain Harmanpreet Singh and Sukhjit Singh scored two goals each while Abhishek scored one goal in the shootout. In the first half, there was a tight match between India and Argentina. India, ranked sixth in the world, dominated the first quarter, but Argentina repaid the goal by playing well in the next 15 minutes.

Harakiri by Indian Women's Team

The women's hockey team lost 0-5 to Argentina in the FIH Pro Hockey League. Julieta Yankunas scored two goals for Argentina. So, Augustina Gorzelani, Valentina Raposo, Victoria Miranda scored one goal each. The Indian team is playing for the first time in the tournament under the guidance of new coach Harendra Singh. India's next match will be against hosts Belgium.
