South actress Priyamani has talked about beauty standards in the film industry. She has also revealed what she would have done if she had been advised to undergo surgery in the early stages of her career.
In an interview to News18, Priyamani said, people always ask me why I don't look like my other competitors. There are many of my family members who say this, who do not say anything in a negative way nor do they mean to demotivate me.
I believe that if you want to look good then look good, you can go to any extent for your perfect look. This is everyone's personal choice. I work in an industry where comparison is inevitable at every step.
South actresses do not believe in size zero – Priyamani
Priyamani further said, nowadays female actors are very fit. She is very conscious about what she is eating and how she looks. But there was a time when some actresses were too conscious but then the audience started liking such actors who looked healthy on screen and the audience started relating to them better after seeing them. The worries about size zero figure are over.
On the issue of actresses getting Botox and fillers done, Priyamani said, 'Many actresses go to skin doctors so that they can look beautiful, there is nothing wrong in that. If someone wants to earn name in the industry and wants to look flawless then there is no harm in doing so. But when I started my career in 2002, South girls did not follow any beauty standard. No one ever advised me to have surgery. If anyone had done this, I would have silenced them or left the film because personally I do not believe in all these things.
Priyamani has been seen in 'Maidan'
Talking about Priyamani's career, recently she was seen in the film 'Maidan'. In this film, Priyamani has played the role of Ajay Devgan's wife. Earlier, Priyamani was seen in the film 'Article 370' released in February this year.
Priyamani is also known for the webseries 'The Family Man'. She played the role of Manoj Bajpayee's wife in this series.
