Top priority for relations with Bangladesh
India and Bangladesh exchanged MoUs in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Hyderabad House in Delhi. Speaking after this, Prime Minister Modi said that India will start e-medical visa facility for people coming for treatment from Bangladesh. An initiative has been taken to open a new Assistant High Commission in Rangpur for the convenience of the people of North-West region of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is India's biggest development partner and we give top priority to our relations with Bangladesh, Prime Minister Modi said.
Important public welfare projects completed in India-Bangla country
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Bangladesh is situated at the confluence of our Neighborhood First Policy, Law East Policy and Indo-Pacific Vision. During the last year we have completed many important public welfare projects together. Trade has started in Indian rupees in both the countries.
The world's longest river cruise on the Ganges River between India and Bangladesh is running successfully. The first cross-border friendship pipeline between India and Bangladesh has been completed. The export of power from Nepal to Bangladesh through the Indian grid is the first example of cooperation in the energy sector. Prime Minister Modi also mentioned that implementing such a big initiative in many fields in just one year shows the speed and scale of our relations.
