JSP President Pawan Kalyan was addressing a meeting at the party office. Pawan said, 'Some people from the ruling party, even Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy, have been calling me a 'package star' for the past few days. Superstar Pawan was elected MLA from Pithampuram seat in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections of the year 2024. After this, Pawan, who won 21 assembly seats with 100 percent strike rate, has now directly become the Deputy CM.
However, despite reaching such heights in his political career, Pawan's personal life was quite turbulent.

He failed several times in studies but was a black belt in Karate
Pawan's real name is Konidela Kalyan Babu. His father Konidela Venkat Rao was a constable and was transferred regularly.
Pawan was not interested in studies since childhood. He failed several times till he passed 10th standard but he was a black belt in Karate.
One day, at a martial arts presentation event, he got his name written as Pawan Kalyan instead of Kalyan Babu, and from there, his name changed.
Went into depression, attempted suicide
Recalling his childhood in an interview, Pawan had said, 'I have lived a very ordinary life. I did whatever my family told me to do. I never thought much about myself.
My focus was less on studies and more on other things. During this time, I developed asthma and due to this, I reduced my interaction with people. Gradually, I went into depression.
One day, I tried to commit suicide using my elder brother Chiranjeevi's licensed pistol, but my family members saved me.
Pawan has a very good bonding with his sister-in-law Surekha Konidela.
Brother Chiranjeevi also pampers him a lot.
Bhabhi inspired me to enter the movies
After this incident, Pawan started looking at life in a new way. He studied computers and started doing yoga.
Pawan's elder brothers Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu are superstars in the South, but despite this, Pawan wanted to do farming and not acting.
However, his sister-in-law Surekha inspired him to join the film industry, and thus he became an accidental actor.
Gave 6 consecutive hit films, became the highest paid actor
Pawan started his film career with the film 'Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi' in 1996. He became a star by giving 6 consecutive hit films between 1997 and 1999.
Pawan created a youth icon image different from his brother Chiranjeevi. He got the title of Power Star from the film 'Susavagatham' released in 1998.
During this period, he also became the highest paid actor in Telugu films. He also worked as a stunt coordinator in 7 films.
The film 'Gabbar Singh' was one of the highest grossing films of Pawan's career.
Was getting more money than Shahrukh, turned down the offer
In 2001, while Pawan was the brand ambassador of soft drink Pepsi, his brother Chiranjeevi was promoting Coca-Cola. At that time, a cola brand offered Pawan more money than Shahrukh Khan for doing an ad, but Pawan rejected that offer.
He said, 'When I came to know that cola is harmful for health, I stopped doing its advertisement. For me, my faith is more important than money.'
He entered politics from his brother's party, then opposed him
In 2008, Pawan entered politics as the president of his brother Chiranjeevi's party Praja Rajyam. In 2011, Chiranjeevi's party formed an alliance with Congress.
Unhappy with his brother's decision, Pawan formed the Janasena Party in 2014 and strongly opposed the Congress. In 2020, Pawan formed an alliance with the BJP.
Pawan Kalyan, who returned home after winning the Andhra Pradesh elections, greeted his brother Chiranjeevi in this manner.
Brother also welcomed Pawan by garlanding him.

Today Pawan is the Deputy Chief Minister in the Andhra Pradesh government. Along with this, he is also the Minister of Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply; Environment, Forest, Science and Technology.
