Leaders Online Desk: A terrible accident has taken place on the Jammu-Poonch highway in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir when a passenger bus fell 150 meters from the road into a deep gorge. Seven passengers have died in this accident. The death toll is likely to rise.
According to information received, the bus full of pilgrims was going from Hathras in Uttar Pradesh to Shiv Khodi in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. At that time, the accident took place at a bend in the Choki Chora area and the bus fell into a ravine about 150 feet deep. It is said that the driver lost control of the bus.
After the accident, there was chaos at the scene. People started shouting. The incident was reported to the police. As soon as the information was received, the teams of NDRF and SDRF also reached the spot. Rescue operations have been started immediately with the help of police, local citizens, SDRF, NDRF. The injured have been admitted to Akhnoor Hospital and Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Jammu.
