Leaders Online Desk: Terrorists attacked Turbat International Airport and Naval Air Base in Pakistan's Balochistan province on Monday (25th) night. There was shelling and bombing at the air base for some time. Five attackers were killed by Pakistani security forces in retaliatory firing. The Balochistan Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Terrorists attacked Turbat International Airport (TUK) and PNS Siddiqui, Pakistan's second largest naval air station. Heavy firing and explosions occurred at both the places. ANI quoted The Balochistan Post as saying that Pakistan's second largest naval air station PNS Siddique in Turbat was attacked by terrorists. There are also reports of many explosions in this area. After the terrorist attack, the health authorities have asked all the doctors in the hospitals of Turbat to report for duty immediately.
Siddiqui Airport was not damaged in this attack. When the terrorists tried to enter, they were immediately identified and killed by the security forces, officials said. However, Pakistan Army has not yet given any reaction on this incident.
Gwadar port was attacked on March 20
Earlier on March 20, BLA's Majeed Brigade had carried out a terrorist attack at the Gwadar Port Authority complex in Balochistan. In which two Pakistani soldiers and eight terrorists were killed. The Pakistan Army said in a statement that eight terrorists attempted to enter the Port Authority complex, but security forces foiled the attack.
Gwadar Port, built in partnership with China, is important for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). These include multi-billion dollar road and power projects. It is also a part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
