Producer and former chairman of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Pahlaj Nihalani recently spoke about the downfall of Govinda's career during an interview. The producer has produced many hit films like Ilzaam, Shola Aur Shabnam, Aankhen with Govinda, who was the number one hero of the industry. Pahlaj Nihalani said that Govinda's superstition was the reason for the ruin of his career. He also said that Govinda was never offered director James Cameron's film 'Avatar'.
In an interview given to 'Friday Talkies', Pahlaj Nihalani told how Govinda's career was ruined. He said- Govinda gradually became superstitious. Due to his superstitions, he used to instruct people to change their clothes. He used to think that the chandelier was going to fall on the set and would ask people to move to the other side. He used to refuse to shoot on certain days. He always came late for shooting. Lateness and superstition became the reason for his downfall.
Govinda has claimed many times in his interviews that he was not offered director James Cameron's film 'Avatar'. But he had turned it down. Pahlaj Nihalani has also exposed this lie of Govinda. He said- I had started a film with Govinda named 'Avatar'. But the film could not be completed and it was shelved. I don't know what came into his mind with the title 'Avatar' that he started claiming that he is doing Hollywood's Avatar. The disc in his mind spun and the language went from Hindi to English.
Let us tell you that Govinda's last film 'Rangeela Raja' was produced by Pahlaj Nihalani. Released in 2019, this film was directed by Sikandar Bharti. This film was a huge flop. After this film, till date Pahlaj Nihalani has not made any film and Govinda has also not worked in any film.
