Ranveer Singh played the role of Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Padmaavat'. According to Ranveer, for the role of Khilji, he locked himself in his Goregaon house for 21 days. He also said that he cannot tell much about it because it was a very dark experience. Not only this, the actor said that he had a lot of difficulty in getting out of this character.
Jim Sarbh with Ranveer Singh.
This statement of Ranveer came in the year 2018. After that, in an interview given to Quint in the year 2023, actor Jim Sarbh had said, there are some artists who say, 'You know I was so caught up in my character that I had to undergo mental therapy for weeks, at that time I was like, shut up brother. You didn't even know your lines that day, what nonsense.
This statement of Jim is once again in the news and it is being said that he had targeted Ranveer Singh through this statement. Many actors including Nawazuddin Siddiqui also gave their opinion on this issue. After the issue escalated, Jim Sarbh has given clarification on this.
Jim Sarbh shared the post
Jim Sarbh shared the post and wrote- I find it very absurd to give clarification, but since people are participating in the video and article, let me tell you, there is no mention of Ranveer Singh in whatever I said. The video being shared is from the promotion of 'Made in Heaven Season 2'. This is 5 years after the release of 'Padmaavat'.
For 5 years I had only good things to say about Ranveer – I still have good things to say about him. My statement is for those actors who exaggerate their process. I am sure you all have met people who talk more about their work than doing their work.
Jim Sarbh's Workfront
Jim will soon be making his Tollywood debut with Sekhar Kammula's film Kubera. The film stars Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna and Nagarjuna in the lead roles.
