Opening bell: Sensex rises by 400 points on signal of 'stable' government









Leader Online Desk: The Indian stock market started on a high note today (June 6) as there was a hint of the formation of the BJP-led NDN government. Sensex opened with a gain of 400 points. While Nifty recorded an increase of more than 100 points. Early trade saw an increase of around 1500 shares.

The Sensex opened above 75,000 today after closing at 74,382 on Wednesday. Nifty opened at 22,798. After opening, the index was trading in the range of 22,700. Midcap index rose by 800 points. Shares of BHEL are registering a gain of 8%. Besides ONGC, Adani Ports, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, BPCL are reporting profits. HUL, Britannia shares fell.
