There are many famous stories about the Kohinoor of the music world, Kishore Kumar. He would not record songs without taking money in advance and would go back home making an excuse of sore throat. Once a producer gave him half the fee and he reached the set with half his moustache shaved off. During the shooting, he had an argument with the financier and called him home and locked him in the clothes cupboard. Kishore Kumar had written on a board outside his house that 'Beware of Kishore Kumar'. There is a very interesting story behind this too.
On the 95th birth anniversary of Kishore Kumar, Dainik Bhaskar spoke to music director Anandji Bhai (Kalyanji-Anandji) and his close friend Atmanand.

After singing the song, he used to hand over a box of sweets and leave
After reaching the recording studio, Kishore Kumar's eyes were on his secretary. If the secretary signaled that he had received the money, then only he would sing, otherwise he would leave the recording studio making an excuse of sore throat. Music director Anandji bhai told during a conversation- I once asked Kishore Kumar that why do you worry so much about money in advance. He told a funny story. He said that in the beginning, his Bengali relatives used to give him a box of sweets and leave after making him sing.
I used my brain to get rid of the useless people
To get rid of the freeloaders, Kishore Kumar took a unique step. He would go for recordings but would return home making an excuse of having a sore throat. The producer would wonder how his throat suddenly became sore? Then his secretary would explain to the producer that his throat remains sore until he gets the money first. After that, all the producers started paying before recording the song.
The secretary reminded me- this is your home production film
Kishoreda got into such a habit of taking money from all the producers before recording the song that once he even forgot that he was recording a song from his own film. In fact, once when he reached the recording studio to sing, his secretary did not indicate that he had received the money. On this, he left the studio without recording the song and went straight to his home. When the secretary reminded him that it was his home production film, then Kishoreda remembered that it was his home film, after that he immediately came and recorded the song.
Kalyanji bhai gave me the advice to earn more money
Anandji bhai said- Kishore Kumar was very friendly with us. Whenever there was a problem, Kalyanji bhai would explain it to him. Once Kalyanji bhai explained that if he wanted to earn more money, he would have to do some other work. Kalyanji bhai himself advised him to do stage shows. He explained that he would get at least 25 thousand rupees for one show. In this way, on the advice of Kalyanji bhai, he started stage shows.

Atmanand, who was close to Kishore Kumar, said- I have designed posters for almost all of Kishoreda's films. He always paid in cash, but always kept half the payment back. One day he asked, do you know why I keep half of your money back? I keep it back so that you come to me again for work.
I didn't know the meaning of Don
Kishore Kumar has been an all-rounder star. He has sung many hit songs. Music director Anandji bhai told- We were working on the film 'Don'. When the title song of this film was discussed, we could not understand the meaning of Don in Hindi, because Don means Don in Marathi, which is called Do in Hindi. Then we created the song 'Are Deewano Mujhe Pehchaano, Kahan Se Aaya, Main Hoon Don'. Then Kishore Kumar understood this and he sang the song in a very energetic manner.

He asked Kishore Kumar what happened? Kishore Kumar said that for half the fees, he will have only half the getup.

Another incident related to Kishore Kumar is very famous. Once another producer had paid him half the fees. To teach the producer a lesson, he reached the set with half the makeup on his face and said that if he gets half the money, he will do only half the makeup. Seeing Kishore Kumar in such a condition, the director's eyes were wide open.
A board was put up outside the house that said 'Beware of Kishore Kumar'
Often there is a board outside people's houses that says 'Beware of the dog', but Kishoreda had a board outside his house written – 'Beware of Kishore Kumar'. There is a very interesting story behind this. Once producer HS Rawail went to his house to give him money. After giving the money, HS Rawail extended his hand to shake hands. Kishore Kumar did not know what came over his mind that he bit Rawail's hand. Rawail got angry and asked what did you do? Kishore Kumar said- did you not read the signboard outside? Beware of Kishore.
The financier filed a complaint against Kishore Kumar with the Income Tax department
During the shooting of the film 'Half Ticket', Kishore Kumar had an argument with the financier of the film, Kalidas Battawabal. The financier complained against Kishore Kumar to the Income Tax department. A raid was conducted at Kishore Kumar's house. Kishore Kumar did not say anything at that time. He gradually became friends with the financier and one day invited him to his house for dinner.

Kishore Kumar told the financier that he had to sit in the wardrobe and discuss some important matters. Kishore Kumar has been quite famous for his strange antics. The financier went and sat in the wardrobe. As soon as he sat in the wardrobe, Kishoreda closed the wardrobe. Then he opened the wardrobe after two hours and took the financier out.
Kishore Kumar's voice was very bad in his childhood
Kishore Kumar's voice was very bad earlier. His throat was hoarse, but an incident changed his world. When Kishore Kumar ran to his mother in the kitchen, he stepped on the sickle kept there, due to which one of his toes got badly cut. The doctor bandaged his wound, but due to the pain, he kept crying for 20 days, due to which there was a change in his throat. His voice got a different resonance.
