Singer Shaan's son Mahi is following in his father's footsteps and is making his career in singing. After the single album 'Sorry', Mahi's second single album 'Jadugri' has been released on Saregama. Recently, during a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Mahi told that people will definitely compare his singing with that of his father Shaan.

During the conversation, Mahi told that he knew from childhood that he wanted to make a career in singing. Mahi said- In childhood, I used to perform on stage with my daddy. The happiness I got in a 10-minute performance cannot be expressed in words. I had decided then that I have to become a singer.

'Tanha Dil' is Shaan's iconic album. Mahi says, 'Though many of Dad's songs are my favourites, but 'Tanha Dil' is very close to my heart.' When asked which song did he sing during his first stage performance with daddy Shaan? Mahi said- I sang Kishore Kumar's song 'Aa chal ke tujhe main lekar chalun, door gagan ki chaav mein'. At that time I was studying in 9th.

Talking about her daddy Shaan, Mahi said that she never realized that her daddy is a big singer. She said- Daddy was just a dad for us at home. He kept stardom far away from home. When I started meeting people for work, then I came to know from people that daddy is such a big singer.

After the single album 'Sorry', Mahi's second single album 'Jadugri' has been released recently on Saregama. Mahi says, 'Both these albums are very close to my heart. This is just the beginning. 'Jadugri' has been produced by my elder brother Soham. The biggest thing for me is that this film has been promoted by Arijit Singh. This is a big achievement for me.

Mahi's voice is quite similar to Shaan's. It is natural for Mahi to be compared to his father Shaan. Mahi said- I know that people will compare me to my father. That is why I practice every day so that I can have a different identity. I work on my voice and singing. My goal is to improve myself.

As far as comparison is concerned, people will listen to my songs on this pretext. This is good for me in a way. But I have created my own identity. When you come from a family where there is already an established singer, the challenge to establish yourself increases. You do get support from your family, but you have to create your own identity on your own strength.
