New Delhi, Leading News Service: The High Court issued a notice to the ED-CBI today (3rd) in the bail case of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Sisodian's bail application was heard in the Delhi High Court on Friday. In this, the court has issued a notice to ED-CBI and sought a reply in the matter of bail. The court also allowed Sisodia to visit his ailing wife Seema once a week.
Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was denied bail by the Rouse Avenue Directorate on April 30. He then moved the Delhi High Court and filed a bail plea before a bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora. Sisodia has been kept in custody for more than 11 months and the action is being delayed, the petition said. A hearing was held on Friday and the court has asked the ED-CBI to reply in this matter.
Meanwhile, the CBI had opposed Manish Sisodia's bail. The CBI had said, “The accused will not influence witnesses and tamper with evidence. Until this is proven. Until then, the accused cannot be granted bail.” The next hearing on Manish Sisodia's bail plea will be held in the Delhi High Court on May 8.
