Meanwhile, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected a rocket capable of carrying a nuclear warhead designed to target the South Korean capital, Seoul.
The Japanese Coast Guard said the missile had already landed in the water. However, vessels passing through the area have been advised to exercise caution.
