No bail for AAP leaders Sisodia, Sanjay Singh leader

New Delhi, Leading News Service: Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, who are in jail in the liquor policy scam case, received a shock from Delhi's Rouse Avenue court. The court has extended the judicial custody of both the leaders till March 7. Both leaders are in jail in the Delhi liquor policy scam case.

The CBI had arrested Sisodia on February 26 last year in a liquor abuse case. Subsequently, Sisodia was in judicial custody in Tihar Jail and was arrested by the ED on March 9, 2023 in a money laundering case. Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh was arrested by ED on October 4 in the same case. The ED had told the court that Sanjay Singh was part of the conspiracy to take bribes from liquor sellers in the excise policy.

In July 2022, Delhi's then Chief Secretary Lt. Governor V. K. Report was submitted to Saxena. In this, the then Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was blamed for giving undue benefits to liquor license holders.

The CBI and ED have alleged that the liquor policy in Delhi caused a loss of Rs 144.36 crore to the exchequer. On July 30, 2022, the Delhi government withdrew the excise policy. However, Manish Sisodia did not get any relief in this entire case from lower court to high court.
