Leaders Online Desk: Armed assailants opened fire in a village in the African country of Nigeria. 40 people have died in this attack. The attackers set several houses on fire, then opened fire. The incident took place in Plateau State in the north-central part of Nigeria.
Plateau Police Spokesperson Alfred Alabo said the assailants, who had escaped from security forces' raids in the forests of Plateau Bangla, attacked Jurak and Dakai villages late on Monday night. After burning the houses, indiscriminate firing started. 40 people have died in this. Meanwhile, security forces killed seven attackers. The death toll may rise.
