Actress Nia Sharma is playing the role of a witch in the serial 'Suhagan Chudail'. Earlier, she was also trolled for playing the role of a Naagin in the serial 'Naagin 4'. If Nia is to be believed, even if this show becomes a victim of social media trolling, it does not matter to her.

In a recent interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Nia has told that initially she had refused to do this show. But after several meetings, the makers managed to convince her. During the conversation, the actress has also shared her views on marriage. Read the highlights of the conversation:

Born in Delhi in 1990, Nia's real name is Neha.

Who gives a title to a show like 'Suhagan Chudail' in today's times?

Believe me, as soon as I heard this name, I refused the makers. I also started thinking that who keeps such a title in today's era? Its story is also about a 200-year-old witch. My question to the makers was, do I look so scary? I wanted to know why they approached me?

But then the team met me 7 times. During this, they assured me that this show is perfect for me. The team was looking for a smart and attractive actress who could play this character well. This show is a fantasy-love triangle love story. I found its story exciting and that is why I agreed.

The actress did her early education from Delhi itself.

This kind of content becomes a joke on social media, how would you respond to it?

People create and share funny memes on social media. We are quite mature. We are aware of what kind of content sells on social media. 'Stupidity' sells a lot in India. As a show maker, if he shows his witch's feet are inverted or says something funny, then obviously people will troll. I am fully prepared to face it.

If memes are made, it doesn't matter to me. I believe that the more memes are made, the more popularity our show will grow. I will not intentionally become a laughing stock, but yes, I have no control over it.

Nia Sharma started her career in the year 2010 with the TV show 'Kaali – Ek Agnipariksha'.

What was the most challenging phase of your career?

The last 3 years have been very challenging for me. I have given my 11 years to TV. I have been quite successful too. All the shows I have been associated with have earned me fame. But, I wanted to do something other than TV. I wanted to step into another field. I wanted to do something new. Unfortunately, things did not turn out as I wanted.

In those 3 years, if I wanted, I could have taken offers for many TV shows. However, I am still ready to take risks. I am not going to give up.

In the year 2016, Nia got third place in the list of 100 sexiest women of Asia after Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.

You won the title of 'Sexiest Asian Woman' in the year 2016, did the reaction of people in the industry towards you change?

After getting the title of 'Sexiest Asian Woman', my whole world changed. Wherever I went, people started praising me. To be honest, before this I never considered myself beautiful. But when I got the tag of 'Sexiest Asian Woman', my confidence level increased a lot. The attitude of people in the industry towards me also changed.

I started getting people's attention. I went from being an under-confident girl to a confident girl.

Nia Sharma is very active on social media and keeps sharing her photos and videos.

Which wish of your mother do you want to fulfill?

My mother is my identity. I am incomplete without her. By the way, she has a wish which she wants to see fulfilled soon. She wants me to get married as soon as possible. To be honest, she is very understanding. She has said that I should marry only if I like someone, otherwise don't. It is a big thing for any mother in Indian society to have such a thinking.

Well, you cannot force anyone to get married. Today the situation is such that most marriages are breaking. In today's era, boys and girls do not want to compromise. Today most girls want to do something for themselves, they want to be successful. Thankfully, there is no pressure from my mother.

Nia Sharma has also worked in the web series 'Twisted' and 'Jamai 2.0'.

What You Marriage In faith holds yes,

Yes, of course. I want to get married. But only to someone who accepts me along with my success. My partner should not have any issue with the way I am. A man should not have any problem with a woman's growth. I will fully support my partner in becoming successful. Till now, I have not found such a partner. If I ever find one in the future, I will definitely marry him.
