New release date of film Emergency announced: Kangana Ranaut announced – will be released on 17 January 2025, Censor Board had stopped the certificate of the film.

Kangana Ranaut's controversial film was waiting for release for a long time. The film was in controversy due to the sensitive issue. Many cases were registered after demands were made to ban the film across the country. On the other hand, the Censor Board had refused to give certificate to the film. However, now the new release date of the film has been revealed.

The release of the film was halted due to lack of certificate

Let us tell you that the film Emergency was to be released on June 14, 2024. However, it was postponed due to the Lok Sabha elections. The film was to be released on 6 September 2024, however, just a few days before the release, the Censor Board had refused to give certificate to the film. There were allegations that there were controversial scenes in the film, due to which peace could be disturbed.

On August 30, Kangana told that her film Emergency had been passed, but due to pressure from some powerful people, the Censor Board had refused to give certificate to the film. Kangana had reached the High Court in this matter. There was a demand to ban the film in Telangana also due to some objectionable scenes of the Sikh community.

The film passed from the censor board on October 17.

The film's release was put on hold pending a decision on the certification issue. Many complaints were filed against Kangana across the country and demands were made to ban the film. The Sikh community had also strongly opposed Kangana and the film. Kangana Ranaut had told on October 17 that the film has been passed by the Censor Board.

Censor Board had sent a list of 10 changes to the producer and director.

  • The Censor Board had asked to show facts on the controversial statements shown during the Emergency. CBFC had said that the makers will have to present the sources of the derogatory remarks made by former US President Richard Milhous Nixon towards Indian women and the statements of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill that Indians breed like rabbits.
  • The Censor Board had sent a list of 10 changes to Manikarnika Films Private Limited. Most of these scenes were those on which objections were raised by Sikh organizations.
  • In a scene of the film, Pakistani soldiers are shown attacking Bangladeshi refugees. In this he is shown attacking children and women. CBFC had also expressed its objection to this scene. The board had asked the makers to change this scene from the film or delete it completely.

The film 'Emergency' is based on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the emergency imposed in India. Along with playing the role of Indira Gandhi in the film, Kangana has also directed it. Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Shreyas Talpade are in important roles with him in the film.
