NCP, symbol case hearing on July 16

New Delhi, Leading News Service: NCP party and symbol was given to Ajit Pawar by Election Commission. The Sharad Pawar group has filed a petition challenging this decision in the Supreme Court. Hearing on this petition was to be held on Tuesday (May 14). However, it could not happen. Therefore, the next hearing on this petition will be held directly on July 16.

After a vertical split in the Nationalist Congress Party, two factions emerged namely Sharad Pawar faction and Ajit Pawar faction. After this, both groups claimed that NCP is ours. The dispute further went to the Election Commission. The commission decided to give the clock symbol of the NCP party and the party to Ajit Pawar. The Sharad Pawar group challenged this decision in the Supreme Court. The hearing in this case was to be held today (May 14). But it could not happen as the Supreme Court is on summer vacation from May 18 to July 7. Therefore, it is not possible to hear this case in the meantime. The court has given the date of July 16 for the next hearing.

“On March 19, the Supreme Court had issued a notice to the NCP Ajit Pawar group and asked them to file their reply within four weeks. It has not yet been filed by the Ajit Pawar group. And then the Sharad Pawar group had to file a rejoinder in two weeks. However, both sides have not fulfilled this yet. Henceforth, before the hearing on July 16, both sides will have to fulfill the matters stated by the court,” said Supreme Court lawyer Siddharth Shinde.
