Kareena Kapoor was about to debut in Kannada cinema with Yash starrer film Toxic, however, she left the film due to her busy schedule. Now there are reports that in place of Kareena, the makers are going to cast South's lady superstar Nayanthara in the film.

In a recent Pinkvilla report, quoting a source related to the film development, it has been written that the director of the film Toxic, Geetu Mohandas and Yash have had meetings with Nayanthara several times in the last week. It is written in the report, Nayanthara has shown interest in doing the film Toxic and currently the logistics are being worked out. The character of Yash's sister in the film has been scripted very well and that strong role matches Nayanthara's image very well. After reading the script, Nayanthara is very happy with Geetu Mohandas that he has created such a strong character.
