Nawazuddin Siddiqui does South films for money: He said, 'I get so much money that I don't understand what I am doing, I regret it later'

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui says that he does not care about money but he works in the South Indian film industry because he is paid well there. Nawaz also admitted that even if his roles in South films are not good, he does them because of the money.

In an interview to Filmfare, Nawazuddin said, 'When I work in films like 'Raman Raghav', I have control over my emotions, thoughts and soul, but when I work in South films, I am not sure about the characters in them. But if I get good money, I agree. I also feel guilty. I think that I have paid so much money but I don't understand what I am doing.'

Nawaz further said that by working in South films he feels that he is cheating. Nawazuddin said, 'The audience does not understand but I know. It is like an advertisement. I do not have any emotion towards that product, I am only interested in the money I get from it. Let us tell you that Nawaz has done films like South superstar Rajinikanth's 'Petta' and Venkatesh's 'Sandhav'.

Nawaz further said that he did not come into films for money. Nawaz said, 'We have a sugar factory in Budhana. I would not have been able to earn that much money if I had kept working there. Let us tell you that Nawazuddin, born on May 19, 1974 in Budhana town of Uttar Pradesh, was able to make his mark in Bollywood after about 15 years of struggle. Nawaz, who was once a watchman, still takes out time to go to his village and also does farming.'

Nawaz got recognition from 'Gangs of Wasseypur'

Nawaz started his career with the 1999 film 'Sarfarosh'. Although he had a small role in it. Till 2012, Nawaz worked in many small and big films, but he did not get any special recognition. Then Anurag Kashyap brought him in 'Gangs of Wasseypur' as Faizal and the role of Faizal made him popular in every household. Nawaz's last film was 'Rautu Ka Raaz'.
