Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, who is known for his powerful acting, is in the news these days for his controversial statements. In a recent interview, Naseeruddin called Hindi cinema's first superstar Rajesh Khanna a bad actor.
In another recent interview, Naseeruddin Shah had targeted Bollywood films. The actor had said that Hindi films have no strength left in them.
Khanna was a very restricted actor: Naseeruddin
In an interview to Hindustan Times, Naseeruddin said, 'The standard of Hindi films had fallen in the 70s. This happened when Rajesh Khanna joined the industry. He achieved so much success but I think Khanna was a very restricted actor.
In fact, he was a bad actor. Intellectually he was very less alert. His style ruled the industry.'
Rajesh Khanna is considered the first superstar of Hindi cinema and the greatest and most successful actor. Khanna gave 17 consecutive hit films from 1969 to 1971.
'Men watch irrational movies for entertainment'
Talking about the concept of masculinity in this interview, Naseeruddin said that when men are emotionally exhausted, they prefer watching irrational masala movies just for entertainment.
Earlier, in an interview given in the year 2010, Naseer had targeted superstar Amitabh Bachchan and his cult film 'Sholay'.
Amitabh has not done any great film: Naseeruddin
Earlier in an interview given in the year 2010, Naseeruddin had also made a controversial statement about Amitabh Bachchan. In an interview given to News X, he was discussing great actors and their great films.
When he was asked about Amitabh Bachchan and 'Sholay', Naseeruddin said, 'Amitabh Bachchan, he has not done any great film. 'Sholay' is also not a great film. Yes, it is definitely entertaining.'
Naseer has been seen in the web series 'Showtime' released this year.
Naseeruddin is more active in web series than films
Naseer's last film on the work front was 'Kutey' released last year. Before this, he was seen in Deepika Padukone starrer 'Gahreiyaan' in 2022.
These days, Naseeruddin Shah is seen more in web series than in films. Last year, his three web series Taj, Saas, Bahu aur Flamingo and Charlie Chopra and the Mystery of Solang Valley were released.
He was last seen in the Emraan Hashmi starrer web series 'Showtime', released this year.
