A junction in Lokhandwala, Mumbai has been named 'Sridevi Kapoor Chowk' in honor of late actress Sridevi. When Sridevi was alive, she used to walk on this route. His last journey also passed through here. Apart from this, Sridevi used to live in Green Acres Tower situated on the same road.
Today this Chowk was unveiled in the presence of Sridevi's husband and famous film maker Boney Kapoor, her younger daughter Khushi Kapoor and veteran actress Shabana Azmi. Let us tell you, this place has been named Sridevi Chowk only on the recommendation and consent of BMC and local people.
Sridevi died in 2018 Sridevi died on February 24 at around 11.30 pm in room number 2201 of Jumeirah Emirates Tower Hotel, Dubai. However, this news reached India at around 2 am on the night of 25 February. On February 20, Sridevi had gone to Dubai to attend the wedding of husband Boney Kapoor's nephew Mohit Marwah. After the marriage, the Kapoor family returned to Mumbai on 22 February, but Sridevi stayed there.
Two days later, on 24th February, Boney again reached Dubai to surprise Sridevi. He wanted to take them to dinner. The husband and wife talked for about half an hour and then Sridevi went to the bathroom to freshen up. But when she did not come out for 15 minutes, Boney called her two-three times.
Even after that he did not get any response so he went to the bathroom and looked. Sridevi was lying drowned in the bathtub. Initially the case was reported to be cardiac arrest.
