On August 24, South Superstar Nagarjuna's N.Convention Center in Hyderabad was demolished. There were allegations that the convention center was constructed illegally on the lake land. However, now Nagarjuna has posted that the High Court had passed an order in 2014, which clearly stated that the construction of the center is not illegal. Along with giving information, the actor has appealed to the fans not to believe any rumors or speculations.
South star Nagarjuna wrote on his official X platform (earlier Twitter), Dear fans and well-wishers. Many times news related to celebrities is exaggerated. I want to say again that the place where N. Convention Center has been built is a leased documented land. Apart from that leased land, we have not used even one percent of the land.
Further, the actor wrote, Under the AP Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Act, the Special Court passed an order on 24 February 2014 stating that there has been no illegal construction in Thummidikunta Lake. Currently, the matter is being debated in the High Court. I will follow the law and the decision. Till then, I sincerely request you not to indulge in any kind of speculation, any kind of rumours or misrepresentation of facts. Yours Akkineni Nagarjuna.
Let us tell you that Nagarjuna's N. Convention Center is located near Hi-Tech City of Madhapur near Shilparamam in Rangareddy district of Hyderabad. For a long time, Hyderabad Disaster Relief and Property Protection Agency (HYDRA) was receiving complaints in which it was being said that the center was constructed illegally on the lake land. This center has been controversial for the past several years. Acting on the complaints, the HYDRA team demolished the center on August 24.
Nagarjuna said- the center was demolished illegally without any notice
After the demolition of the N.Center, the actor expressed his displeasure through social media and wrote that no notice was sent to him before the demolition of the center. He had a stay order from the court, however the center was still demolished illegally. The actor has also said that he will take action against the officials for this.
N Convention Center was built on 6.69 acres. There are allegations that it was built by encroaching on 3.30-3.40 acres of land of Thummidikunta Lake. Many complainants including Bhaskar Reddy of Hyderabad had complained to HYDRA. After this this action was taken.
Thummidikunta lake is spread over 29 acres. Nagarjuna had built N Convention Center near it. There were a total of three halls in N Convention Center. These were used for big programs. Many political parties, gatherings and weddings have been held in this convention center. Last year, the wedding reception of Tollywood actor and Chiranjeevi's nephew Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi was held in N Convention Center on 5 November.
