Mumbai Indians in Trouble : Bad news for Mumbai Indians, Surya out of second match too | leader

Leaders Online Desk : Mumbai Indians in Trouble : Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians have had a poor start in the IPL. MI lost the first match against Gujarat Titans by just 6 runs. Now their next match will be against Sunrisers Hyderabad. This match will be played on Wednesday (March 27) and Mumbai has already suffered a big shock before that. Team's explosive batsman and T20 king Suryakumar Yadav will not be seen playing in the match against Hyderabad.

Suryakumar Yadav is injured and is currently undergoing treatment at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The NCA did not give him a clean chit after the first fitness test. Due to this reason, he could not play the first match against Gujarat Titans. At the same time, there are reports that even after the second fitness test, Suryakumar Yadav has not been given a clean chit to play in the IPL.

So BCCI's bold move? (Mumbai Indians in Trouble)

A report surfaced a few days ago that Surya's second fitness test was conducted on March 21. But, despite going through the trial process twice, he has been denied permission to play. Hence, it is believed that the BCCI does not want to take any hasty decision regarding Surya with the 2024 T20 World Cup in sight.

Surgery on Surya in January (Mumbai Indians in Trouble)

Suryakumar Yadav was injured during the T20 series against South Africa this year. He then flew to Germany and underwent surgery in January to get rid of a problem called a sports hernia. Surya was expected to be on the field from the start of IPL 2024, but so far he has been away from the field.

Suryakumar's performance in IPL

Suryakumar Yadav has scored 3,249 runs in 139 matches played so far in IPL. During this period his average is 32.17 and strike rate is 143.32. Surya has scored 1 century with 21 fifties in the league. Sky's bat was on fire last season. He scored 605 runs in 16 innings at a strike rate of over 181.
