Leading Online Desk : The Bombay High Court has ruled that the daughter-in-law cannot be taken out of the father-in-law's house for the peace of mind of the elderly mother-in-law and father-in-law. Senior citizens have the right to live peacefully in their homes, but care should be taken to ensure that the provisions of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 are not undermined while using laws to protect them, the High Court said. Justice Sandeep Marne has given this verdict. “The provisions of the Senior Citizens Act should not be used against the provisions of Section 17 of the Domestic Violence Act,” he said. The couple in this case got married 27 years ago. The couple was constantly fighting. This house was owned by father-in-law. The court ordered the couple to vacate the house. But the husband did not leave this house. Therefore, the court said that this was a ploy to get the daughter-in-law out of the house.
