Monsoon forecast to enter Kerala on 'Ya' date
Monsoon enters Kerala on June 1 every year. But it was earlier predicted that monsoon is more likely to enter Kerala a day earlier than usual. According to this, the Indian Meteorological Department had earlier predicted that monsoon will arrive in Kerala on Friday 31st May (Monsoon 2024 Update).
Monsoon 2024 Update : Highlights of Monsoon
- Monsoon generally enters Kerala around 1st June.
- This year one day earlier i.e. 31st May Monsoon in Kerala
- Monsoon covers the entire country by July 15.
- Monsoon will rain strongly in the country this year. Above average means 106 percent rainfall is expected.
- In the coming monsoon season, 'La Nina' will return, rain will fall intermittently.

But, will the monsoon reach the Bay of Bengal branch?
Cyclone 'Remal', formed in the Bay of Bengal with a speed of over 130 kmph, will cross West Bengal coast on Sunday and move towards Bangladesh on Monday 27th. Meanwhile, due to this condition, the second branch of Monsoon has become active and has reached the center of Southwest Bay of Bengal. Therefore, scientists have expressed the possibility that this year too it will come to India through the Bay of Bengal branch instead of Kerala. But this prediction can be given more clearly only after the cyclone calms down.
