The web series Mirzapur 3 was streamed on Amazon Prime Video on July 5. This series is being discussed a lot. This time in this season, the character of Sharad Shukla has emerged very well. Actor Anjum Sharma, who played this character, spoke to Dainik Bhaskar.

Talking about rejection, Anjum Sharma has said that continuous practice is very necessary for any work. Luck is also very important. But luck also needs a lot of practice.

Let us know what else Anjum Sharma said during the question-answer session…

You might have faced rejections at the beginning of your career?

Giving an audition and not fitting in it, I don't consider it rejection. Rejection means that after being finalised for a film, something happens and things don't move forward. This happened to me two-three times. Then I feel a little sad. I remained associated with theatre. So I kept practising. My growth never stopped.

Today you are an inspiration for people, what advice would you give to those who want to come into the industry?

My only suggestion is that if you want to work in any form in this creative world, then practice is very important. Luck is also very important. But luck also needs a lot of practice. Luck can increase 100 times by practicing. Do not make your life a challenge, try to be happy in whatever you are doing.

How did you get into acting?

I have been fond of watching movies since childhood. I used to go to the theatre to watch movies every Friday. Till then, I had never thought of acting. Later, when I thought about what I should do, I thought of doing a diploma in films. I did a diploma from the Film Institute for one year. There I saw and understood world cinema. I felt as if I had come to a magical city.

After leaving the institute, I assisted cinematographer Kamalakar Rao. After that, I assisted in direction for some time. During this time, I realized that I have to make a career in acting. But preparation was necessary for this.

After getting selected in the audition, I felt that I was not fully prepared for acting. After that I started doing theatre. I played with Makarand Deshpande for 6 years. During this time, I got a chance to act in 'Slumdog Millionaire'.

What was the reaction of your family when they came to know about your acting profession?

My family members have always been interested in art and music. They used to encourage me to pursue art and music. But it was not like I had to make a career in it. When I joined the film institute, my family members had a strange reaction.

But I had to learn technical things there, so I didn't say anything. When I started doing theatre, my family came to know that I was interested in acting. They used to tell me to do only that work which I understand. Otherwise, it may cause problems in the future.
