New Delhi, Leading News Service: The name of Babri Masjid has been removed from the NCERT Class 12 Social Science book. Now a new book describes it as a three-domed structure. The chapter on Ayodhya has been reduced from four pages to just two pages. It contains the story of the struggle to build the Ram temple. Rath Yatra of Somnath, role of Karsevaks, violence in Ayodhya are included. According to media reports, an old book mentions that the Babri Masjid was built by Mughal Emperor Babur's general Mir Baqi in the 16th century.
What was mentioned in the old book?
Now in this case it is said that in 1528 three dome structure was built at Shri Ram Janmasthan. The chapter mentioned that the structure has many Hindu symbols. There were sculptures on the inner and outer walls. In two pages of the old book, it is said that the Faizabad district court decided to open the mosque. Since then many incidents happened here. In 1992, a Rath Yatra was taken out for the construction of the Ram temple and the Karsevaks caused tension. Then there were communal riots in 1993.
What changes in the new book?
The new book mentions that in 1986 the Faizabad District Court ordered the opening of the three dome structures. People were allowed to worship. The book mentions that these three dome structures were built at the birthplace of Lord Rama.
Photographs of newspaper cuttings were posted
The decision given by the Supreme Court on the Ayodhya dispute has been included in the new book. On November 9, 2019, the constitutional bench of the court had ruled that this role belongs to the temple. The old book was illustrated with newspaper cuttings. This included the order to remove the Kalyan Singh government after the Babri demolition. It has now been removed. This is the fourth time since 2014 that NCERT has changed the book. In April, NCERT had said that changes have been made to the chapter based on the latest developments. It contains new information.
